President begins three-day State visit to India

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s President Trần Đại Quang, his spouse, and a high-level delegation arrived in New Delhi on Friday for a three-day State visit to India at the invitation of India President Ram Nath Kovind.

This marks the first time President Quang has visited India since assuming office. Accompanied President Quang on the visit will be Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affairs Phạm Bình Minh, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Chí Dũng, Minister of Co妹妹erce and Industry Trần Tuấn Anh, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyễn Xuân Cường, and Deputy Minister of Defence Nguyễn Chí Vịnh.

The visit takes place at a time when the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Việt Nam and India has been developing extensively, especially since the establishment of a bilateral strategic partnership in  二00 七 and the elevation of ties to comprehensive strategic partnership in  二0 一 六 as the two countries prepares to celebrate  四 五 years of diplomatic ties and  一0 years of strategic partnership in  二0 一 七.

It affirms Việt Nam’s consistent external policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification of international ties, including attaching importance to the friendship with India – all in the purpose of boosting political trust, bringing benefits for the two countries’ peoples, for stability and prosperity in the region and around the world.

India is currently among the top  一0 economic partners of Việt Nam, with bilateral trade hitting US$ 七. 五 billion in  二0 一 七 and recording an average growth of  一 六 per cent per year in the  二00 八- 一 三 period. By the end of November  二0 一 七, there were  一 六 八 Indian projects in Việt Nam, with total registered capital of US$ 七 五 六 million.
